Junior Marketing & Sales Executive
About the Role:
Are you passionate about sales and marketing, eager to learn, and ready to kickstart your career in a fast-paced, dynamic industry? We’re looking for a Junior Marketing & Sales Executive — a motivated self-starter excited to develop their skills and grow within our team at Kingfisher Brixham.
You’ll work closely with both sales and marketing teams, supporting day-to-day operations while owning projects that build our brand and drive sales. This is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience, learn the ropes, and step into a more senior marketing role as you grow.
What You'll Do:
Sales Support:
- Understand our customers’ specific needs and actively promote and sell our diverse product range.
- Handle incoming calls and emails, processing orders, answering queries, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Marketing Assistance:
- Support local marketing initiatives and customer communications, especially through social media and digital channels.
- Collaborate with team members to create fresh, engaging content for social media, blogs, and apps across multiple platforms.
- Prepare and organise marketing materials—brochures, leaflets, and more—by gathering relevant information and applying creative writing skills.
- Write clear, SEO-friendly content for publications, websites, social media, and other marketing collateral, adapting tone and style as needed.
- Produce high-quality photos and videos using mobile devices or cameras, including staging product photoshoots with props.
- Analyse marketing campaigns and report findings to support the Sales Manager in planning future promotions.
- Monitor social media activity of customers and competitors, flagging important mentions or issues to management and responding where appropriate.
- Provide additional support to the sales team with ad hoc marketing and communication tasks.
About You:
We want someone who brings genuine passion for sales and marketing, with a drive to learn and succeed in a fast-paced hospitality and seafood environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Ability to present data and reports clearly and accessibly.
- Experience managing websites using CMS platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics is a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of social media, ideally in a business context.
- Self-motivation with a collaborative, team-player attitude.
- Well-organised with strong time management skills.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across teams.
- Competence in reporting and marketing analytics.
- Photography skills or an interest in photography.
- Flexibility to cover early morning shifts at fish markets and docks.
No prior sales or food service experience required! While seafood knowledge is a plus, your motivation, attitude, and willingness to learn are what matter most.
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with strong IT and personal skills.
- Punctual, motivated, and confident communicating with diverse audiences.
- Resilient, proactive, and tenacious — ready to take ownership of your success.
- Ability to meet realistic but challenging sales targets through hard work and dedication.
Why Join Us?
- Gain hands-on experience and grow your marketing career with expert support.
- Be part of an innovative, friendly team in an exciting and unique industry.
- Clear progression path toward a senior marketing role.
- Competitive salary and benefits.
