Technical Manager

Job Specification:

• To ensure compliance to Food Safety legislation at site
• To promote a quality culture

• Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement
• Assessing product specifications and customer requirements
• Ensuring compliance with legal and customer  standards 
• Maintenance of third-party certification e.g. BRCGS or specific customer standards
• Agreeing and implementation of in-house and group standards
• Defining processes and implementing group procedures
• Working methodically to establish a clearly defined management system that all staff can apply
• Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation
• Supervising staff in carrying out tests and checks.
• Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and corrective actions are implemented as require.
• Complaint handling and investigation
• Supplier approval management
• Collating and analysing performance data against defined parameters
• Providing reports as required
• Pinpointing relevant training needs

Qualifications and Experience

• Food related qualification or experience within a food business
• Experience as an internal auditor
• Experience of BRC and 3^rd party audits
• HACCP qualification
• Health and Safety Experience. IOSH qualification desirable but training will be given.
• Computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
• Exceptional organisational skills
• Able to work calmly and efficiently under strict time constraints
